John
O’Connor
Mr. O'Connor leads O'Connor and Kay, Inc. as
well its Entrepreneurial Services arm. He currently owns interests
in a number of startup enterprises as well as established midsize companies.
These companies cover a wide spectrum of industries including High-tech
storage devices, High-tech communication, novelty distribution, land
surveying, real estate, and financial services.
In the recent past
Mr. O'Connor has owned and/or been the President of an international
airline servicing company which he grew from a 385 employee to an over
800 employee operation, a medical device company, and various real
estate investment entities. Mr. O'Connor obtained formal training during
his 11 years with what is now one of the largest accounting firms in
the world PricewaterhouseCoopers. He also holds a masters degree from
the School of Accounting and a Bachelors degree from the School of
Business from the University of Southern California (“USC”).
Mr. O'Connor has taught courses at the University of California Northridge
and is a visiting lecturer at USC in its graduate School of Accounting.
Believing in community service, Mr. O'Connor is on the Board of Directors
and/or Treasurer of the Pacific Coast Sailing Center (which provides
opportunities for disabled people and young adults to learn how to
sail), the Cabrillo Beach Youth Sailing Club (which provides scholarships,
equipment, and instructors to junior sailors in the Los Angeles harbor
area), and the Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club (an owner of marina, storage,
and clubhouse properties).

A. Kay III
Mr. Kay heads the Tax Services arm of O'Connor and Kay. Mr. Kay has
over 10 years of experience reviewing and preparing federal and state
income tax returns, quarterly estimates, and year-end projections for
a variety of individuals, partnerships, and corporations. Mr. Kay gained
much of his experience working at two of the largest providers of tax
services, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young.
Mr. Kay has helped ease the tax burden for many individuals, including
individuals eligible for the earned income credit and individual partners
with numerous state filings and complex basis issues. He has broad
knowledge across a multitude of corporate tax issues as well, including
those unique to closely-held family businesses, earnings and profits
studies multinational corporations, stock basis calculations, subchapter
C to S conversions, and various corporate liquidations. Mr. Kay has
done work for a variety of industries including high technology, manufacturing,
energy, banking, retail distribution, and service providers. Mr. Kay
also has experience reviewing and preparing tax accruals under FAS
109, "Accounting for Income Taxes". Mr. Kay’s two years
working as an internal auditor at a public company lent him a distinctive
understanding of internal corporate accounting.
Mr. Kay has a Master of Business Taxation from the University of Southern
California and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance. Mr.
Kay is a CPA licensed to practice in tax in Virginia and California.
Mr. Kay lives in Virginia where he and wife enjoy golfing and traveling
together.
